We will be celebrating Valentine's Day at home this year due to lockdown, but don’t worry, you can still make it romantic. Here are my top 5 Valentine’s Day date night at home ideas for you to try:
A movie night
Grab some blankets, light some candles, gather your favourite snacks and drinks and watch a movie together. Make sure you choose the movie before hand though, no one wants to spend Valentine’s Day searching for a film to watch.
Do a puzzle, play games or play a board game together. But make it fun! Put some music on in the background and pour your favourite drink. Why not add a twist with the loser having to do the dishes at the end of the night?
I hate cooking but I love 'assisting' my husband when he cooks. Why not search for a nice recipe, something you haven’t tried before and have a go at cooking it together. It’s a perfect chance to have a bit of fun trying something new, and you (hopefully) get a lovely meal to share at the end.
Take a picnic and watch the sun set
Pack some blankets, some nice food and something to drink into a basket. Find a nice quiet place somewhere up high and enjoy watching the sun set. It doesn’t get more romantic than this!
Takeaway & Netflix
I get that life is pretty hectic right now so even if you manage to order a takeaway and catch up on a box set on Valentines Day, make sure you fully enjoy it with your partner. Switch off your phones, put the kids to bed and just enjoy some quality time together.
If you'd like to decorate your space for Valentines Day for free, why not make one of my absolutely gorgeous love heart garlands?
