Did you know that 1st April marks the start of Stress Awareness Month? Stress Awareness Month has been around for years, and its aim is to highlight the causes of stress, and how we can overcome it.
According to the Mental Health Foundation, 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope. It’s no surprise after the year we’ve had, but even before we were living in a pandemic, we were experiencing high levels of stress.
High stress levels are detrimental to our health. Even in 2021, stress isn’t really taken seriously. People see high stress as normal, and often, if you’re not stressed, you’re not working hard enough.
There are many different causes of stress, and everyone experiences stress in different ways. Similarly, there are many ways that we can reduce stress. Some ways will work for you, but other ways may not. It’s about finding what helps you reduce your stress and making time to practice it.
Because I want to help you create a simple and calm life, I’m going to be spending April helping you to reduce your stress, and regain control. Join me on Instagram (@theenglishprintco) where each day I’ll educate you on stress, or share a useful tip to help you to live a calmer life.
We could all benefit from a calmer lifestyle, free of (harmful) stress. And the reality is that it is possible to live a life this way. I’d love to show you how.
